Workshop
In the industry and on the bike tools since 1989, SBB's mechanic has the practical experience and know-how to get the best performance from your cycling equipment. Here at SBB, we're sticklers for maintenance, authentic parts and components that are repairable. SBB stocks and recommends original spare parts from a broad range of brands including Shimano, Sram, Campagnolo and other well-established component suppliers – ones that offer serviceable items. No job is too big or too small, we repair and service all brands and all types of bikes from the heavy-duty downhill rig to the time-trial exotic. We work on regular bikes, too.
Service
Protect your cycling investment and have your bike serviced by a competent mechanic. A standard tuneup includes derailleur/shifter adjustments, brake adjustments, grease & lubrication where it's needed, and a clean bike for a proper safety inspection. SBB goes beyond basic servicing and can handle the big jobs other shops shy away from.
We've got the right tools for the job, sure, but we've also got the experience to put them to good use whether it's re-aligning a frame or derailleur hanger, chasing some threads, or building a new set of wheels.
Wheels
SBB stocks a broad range of pre-built wheels, but also will custom build a new set of hoops for your bike. Sean has built wheels for many pro-level riders and an Olympian or two. Drop by the shop for a chat about what your needs are and what wizardry he can work on your wheelset to make your bike ride wonderfully.
Your Mechanic
Sean is a consummate bike-industry veteran. He's spent 23 years learning the industry from the tire patch up to custom frame design, from internally rifled tubes to outward graphics and custom paint. He has managed & developed bike shops, conducted staff training, sourced parts, organised advertising campaigns and generally spent an inordinate amount of time finding out what makes bike components tick.
He has worked with the Victorian Institute of Sport for bike fitting, including biomechanical assessment, and bike building for athletes such as David McKenzie, stage winner of the Giro de Italia; Anna Wilson, Road World Cup Champion; and Geraldine Denham, overall winner Tour of New Zealand. He, himself, has competed in MTB enduros, cross country/hill climbing events and road criteriums as well.
